The Xiaomi Poco M2 was announced on September 8th 2020, and became available in the market from September 15th, 2020. It is a lesser version of the previously launched Xiaomi Poco M2 Pro.

Design and Display

The rear panel of the Xiaomi Poco M2 is home to the quad rear cameras which by the way has three arranged in a straight line. The rear panel also accommodates a capacitive finger sensor as well as the Poco branding.

It features a 6.53-inch LCD display with a teardrop notch design which is where the front camera is placed. This 6.53-inch LCD display comes with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 as well as a density of 395 PPI.

The Poco M2 is available in four colour options and they are Carbon Gray, Sunset Purple, Ocean Green, Pink/Blue colours.

The Cameras

The camera set up of the Xiaomi Poco M2 is very similar to that of the Redmi 9. It comes with the same quad rear camera set up and a single front facing camera.

The quad rear camera set up of the smartphone is made up of a 13MP primary camera with an aperture of f/2.2, an 8MP ultra wide camera with an aperture of f/2.2, a 5MP macro camera with an aperture of f/2.4, as well as a 2MP depth camera with an aperture of f/2.4.

Hardware and Software

When it comes to performance hardware on the Poco M2, what the device offers is a mid-range smartphone hardware that is made up of an Octa-core MediaTek G80 processor with a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU handling the graphics. It features a 6GB of RAM, with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

The smartphone comes with a massive non-removable 5000mAh Li-Po battery. The device also features 18W fast charge mechanism for a faster charge. While this is not the best fast charge feature available in the market, it is still a whole lot better than having nothing.

And when you consider the price that the phone is going for, you will see that you are getting a good deal.

For the software department, the device features the MIUI 11 user interface on top of the Android 10 operating system.


The Xiaomi Poco M2 comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, and features dual-band Wifi, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.

For Internet connectivity the Poco M2 offers only as much as 4G LTE. It doesn’t support 5G so the phone users will not get to enjoy 5G with the smartphone even if 5G is accessible in their area.
